Spring 2019 Trends You Need To Know Now
There are SO many fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2019 we couldn’t possibly cover them all in 1 blog. So we decided to choose our favourite key trends which we have seen both on the catwalk and in the stores, the majority being very easy to wear and style according to your personality.
Beige is the new black. It really is! When we think of the colour beige, we usually only get one tone come to mind, however there was a huge colour palette of different tones on the catwalks for SS19 and we love it! It’s a perfect neutral colour to mix into your capsule wardrobe and if you get the right garment (such as the beautiful Burberry parka below) it can be a great investment piece too. Here are our favourite looks from the catwalks.
With all these 80’s trends around, how could polka dots not make an appearance for Spring?! They’re super elegant and very easy to wear- why not try polka dot head-to-toe like Carolina Herrera and Burberry have? You can mix your polka dot pieces with plain colours if you feel it’s too over powering or you can go all out and even clash your dots with the reverse colour as seen in the Carolina Herrera image below.
Throw out your dull old suits beause power suits have been given a revamp and they’re even more brighter and colourful than ever. The suits are available in a variety of shapes (slim, wide leg, loose fit etc) to suit all body shapes.
If you can pull off bright colours, we’d highly recommend trying the full suit, and even colour clashing, however if you’d like to try the trend but don’t want to jump in the deep end, you can wear either the trousers/ skirt or jacket with other items of clothing such as jeans and a t-shirt/ blouse etc.
This trend isn’t for everyone, that’s ok!!! Take a trend which works for you and make it your own. Depending on your age this trend may be your 2nd or 3rd round (but hey, who’s counting)! It may remind you of your teenage years or the Jane Fonda workout videos your mum used to own back in the 80’s! If this is the case and it never worked for you then it may not work for you now either! Which is fine.
If you can pull off brights and don’t mind trying this trend perhaps for the first time, there are some great options around. You can dress it up like David Koma with a blazer dress, make it sporty like Emporio Armani or find items that have incorpoated two trends together like the Off White co-ord with the mix of snake print.
Tie Dye is another HUGE trend for the season and you must have already seen it both in stores and online. You can find it on pretty much every item of clothing and wear in a way to suit your style and personality. It’s a great trend to wear sporty or to a festival and it can also look lovely on holiday.
